Casting information and scam alert
Here are some helpful tips for anyone who wants to break in the Entertainment Industry:
1. Just as any actor will research their role in order to be as authentic as possible. The same due diligence is required before signing up with a casting agency, modelling agency or a talent agent.
Contact the Better Business Bureau to see there are any complaints and Google the casting agency name and see what comes up. Take your time and always read all documents before signing
your name. There are a lot of scams which takes advantage of people eagerness and lack of knowledge within the Entertainment Industry.
2. Some casting agencies requires you to pay a fee. Ask them, what is the purpose of the fee and how often can I expect to work? In fact, do your homework by making a list of important
questions to ask. Be realistic and cautious, trust your instinct and if the answers sound to good to be true; don't walk away, run away! Due to the current economy, there are some casting agencies
that are preying and charging money while promising them that they can make a lot of money as movie and TV background extra.
3. There are many talent casting agencies that caters specific to dancers, models, actors, athletes and kids. There also modeling agencies that solely work with plus size models or part
models who may display only certain part of their body like their hands, back or feet.
4. Remember, just as if you were going for a job interview; "A first impression makes a lasting impression!"
